Several sources claim that Stafford scored the second goal for Royal Engineers. London Evening Standard reports say the ball crossed the line in a goalmouth scramble. An amendment to his obituary in the Royal Engineers' Journal published in February 1922, the biographer credits Renny-Tailyour with both goals in the replay. The Sheffield Daily Telegraph for the 17th March 1875 can be read as crediting Mein or Renny-Tailyour. | ||||||||
