Notes
*The match was delayed 30 mins when it became known by Telegraph that the Referee Mr Lythgow of Liverpool had got onto the wrong carriage at Liverpool Lime Street station. Mr GA Hughes Sec. of Northwich Victoria suggested his brother Mr C Hughes Hon-Sec. of the Cheshire FA. Chirk objected to this choice, but as the kick-off time passed & after 30 mins they withdrew their refusal. Chirk scored from a free-kick by William Owen. An argument then occurred on the rules of this free-kick & Mr Hughes ruled no goal after consulting the rule book. At this point, Mr Lythgow arrived and took over as referee.
